The Issue

There are currently five million British nationals living overseas, of which only 20,000 are registered to vote. Los Angeles has 30,000 British expats.

While there are British expat communities across the planet, Los Angeles is a city of newcomers in a country built on immigration. There are few better places in which to discuss immigration with nationals of a country famous for its global mindset.

The longest piece in this series will discuss whether or not expats’ own immigration experiences have changed their views on immigration back home.  The smaller piece focuses on the coverage of the general election in the American media. Also, you can take a look at the results of my poll on their own.
